Gas Incinerators

This kind of equipment is characterized by a horizontal or vertical cylindrical firebox, internally lined with refractory and without any coil installed inside the firebox. The scope of the equipment is to incinerate contaminated hydrocarbon gases containing, for instance, BTEX or other gases.

Generally, a single special burner is fit to burn the contaminated fuel gas. The combustion chamber’s volume and sizing are specially designed to reach the required temperature and residence time to complete the combustion of the contaminant to be incinerated.

Since the flue gases are discharged from the incinerator at an elevated temperature (well above 800°C), a waste heat recovery unit is generally fit downstream to increase the system’s efficiency.
